Episode Summary

Are you aware of how many people are struggling with food insecurity right now? Probably not. It is a global issue governments and non-profit organizations are fighting against daily. But what can each of us do to help resolve this problem? Many would say not much. But that was not the answer from young Jack Griffin.

Jack was a teenager when he watched a news story dedicated to those fighting poverty and hunger. He looked for ways to help, but he could not find many food and social services providers online. Then he thought, what can I do to make this information available on the internet?

During high school and later in college, Jack developed a platform called FoodFinder. It is an online resource where those in need can find nearby food pantries, soup kitchens, and school meal providers.

In this episode of the Digital Footprint podcast, Jack talks about his professional journey, the challenges he had to confront, and the mission and goals of FoodFinder.
